Hello there,
a couple of years ago at the modeling show in Jabbeke, Belgium, I found a Fujimi kit (RS-13) of a vehicle I've never heard of before: the Caspita Jiotto.
The vehicle is powered by a Subaru flat 12 Boxer engine. Even though the engine is just a relief-type one-piece item, it does have potential. The kit consists of
just a dozen or so parts, but included some rubber hoses and metal mesh for further detailing.
This is what the box looks like:

An OOB model found on the internet:
http://i936.photobucket.com/albums/ad204/SebastianMotsch/modeling%20plastic/Caspita%20Jiotto%20Bonneville%20Special/11c8f775.jpg
And a picture of a real Caspita Jiotto. Seems like Fujimi nailed the overall shape quite well.

I replaced the kit-supplied hoses with more realistic looking material from ScaleProduction and added a body kit made from Evergreen strips.
I primed the body primered and pre-painted it with silver, before painting the model with a special BMW paint that I faded front/rear.

A few decals have been added to make it a phantom racer. White where the paint is darker and black where the paint is lighter. Keeping it simple...

And this is what it looks like finished. If you're wondering whether or not I forgot to add rear-view mirrors - I didn't. I built this vehicle for a club project
themed "Salt Lake Racers". You'll see all the models at the modeling show in Frankfurt (06./07.10.2012). I still have to figure out how to make moon disks
for this particular vehicle... any help is appreciated!

Cool - never seen this one built, I have it in my stash.
As a bit of information, the Caspita was a one-off showcar, the flat-12 engine started life as a proposal for a Subaru Formula 1 engine that, in the end, was never used in the sport.

Great job on a rare car!!! That paint job and livery looks very good. What did you use for body painting? And how did you get those shades?
Any interior pics?
