2008 Mineīs GT-R r35

Kit: Fujimi 3767
Body paint: Rust Oleum rattle canīs primer, white color, laquer clear
Other paints: Humbrol enamels, Uniball UM100 gel markers, Tamiya Acrylics
Decals: from kit + Hobby Design sets HD04-0045 + HD04-0062 + HD01-0036
Went with a personal version related to Mineīs R35 GT-R (not an specific version was followed)
Interior based on R-35 Black Edition as I like the color combo.
Added Carbon Fiber on roof, trunk, rear wing, hood vents, and lower part all around. Thereīs also some CF on the dashboard (first time CFing complex shapes)
Project date: somewhere around 2nd quarter of 2012
Built out of box + added decals for special livery.
Itīs a great kit from Fujimi. Not the typical oversimplified kit that looks like only the body matters. Thereīs good detail on chassis, lower view of engine, and interior. Brake set from the kit is amazing. Rotors are 2 parts, they fix to the wheel, calipers 2 parts, nice shapes and also rotors turn passing thru the caliper, nice touch.
Issues: Window part snap on the rear window hole, where the thickness of your paint really matters, so be sure to check as you paint the body. Bumpers and skirts all around are molded separately. Fitting the rear bumper is kinda tricky because it risks the panel lines. Not a Tamiya kit, but way cheaper and builds very nice.
Thx for looking. C&C? They help us all improve!

Thanks for your comments! I appreciate that.
Yes, Bridgestone can be read on the tires... Was it not supposed to be like that?
Btw, you made me notice I forgot to add the bridgestone logos...

i guess my GT-R was a special model. one of its tires only had "bridgest" on it. lol!
the decal though isn't that noticeable that you didn't put it on. only noticed it too when you brought it up :)

Brilliant work mate! Love me the Mine's cars. I've a new decal set still in the wrapper to make a Mine's R34, I'm just too chicken to spray paint white! :p
Keep up the good work, you're doing amazing. :)

Thx for comments :P
@nugundam: you made me curious so I checked all four outside markings. Yap, all of them are BRIDGESTONE, not sure about inner markings as I prefer not to spin the wheels to check. Iīm not the kind of person that check all that. I can even finish a body without noticing thereīs no fuel cap anywhere lol. This is Fujimi 3767 kit. Which one is yours?
@Tomo: thereīs a Mineīs R34 from Aoshima which should come with everything in the box (BBS, canard, front bumper...)

Also, if you just want to go over it with the decals, R34 kits from Tamiya build very easily without any hassle. Just check to use the closest to the Mineīs version body. Check on my Gran Turismo R34, thatīs the Tamiya Z-Tune kit.

forgot the number but it's the 1st r35 that didn't have the engine yet. i only noticed the unique sidewall marking when i was taking wip pics and happened to take a shot of the rear discs wherein the said tire was located on. hahahaha.
oh, did you run into any fitment issues with the front and rear bumpers? that's one thing i hate with separate bumpers - the rear on mine sort of opens outwards instead of just falling in line with the rest of the body, had to clamp them down and use superglue.

I also hate separate bumpers (other than Tamiya kits), but thatīs what gives model brands a way to offer variations of same car at lower costs. I also had to use superglue for the rear bumper for exactly the same reason, and I lost some panel line depth in the process. The front bumper was a bit easier to fix, but I had to attach after paint, because front grills must be attached from the inside.
Hood and bumper doesnīt fit perfectly, but acceptable.
Rear window is not forgiving the thickness of your paintjob so there was another fitting issue there.
And rear muffler tips are a "beach" to insert thru the diffuser.
Anyway, itīs way more detailed and better fitting than any other Fujimi model Iīve built so far. Iīm really tempted to get an Aventador, as the say is so good. Those doors look quite interesting.

Great work. I love white GT-Rs with carbon. May I ask which carbon decals you used? I'm assuming Hobby Design. If so< how were they to work with?
Thanks

Hi cjsbosox.
Decals: from kit + Hobby Design sets HD04-0045 (Mineīs) + HD04-0062 (carbon) + HD01-0036 (metal logos, not really necessary as kit provides)
Iīve found them to be great. I tried them after using Gran Turismo 4 PS2 R34 set, which was great even without clear over it. Iīve only tried MSM Creation carbon before, which is very thick and silver. But the HD 0062 set looks good enough for me in shade, scale and user friendly. Rear diffuser was done be several pieces, many overlapped. Roof also had to be fixed, and trunk is a 2 part job with extra repairings. Now try to find all those fixes and overlappings in the pics. They are there, but not very easy to find.
Just give them a try. They are not as expensive as Studio 27 or SMS or Ka, you know all those recommended brands.

Does this kit come with 20" wheels or 18"s?
BTW sweet looking r35. I think they look best in white and silver.
