I recognized it in the 1965 movie (http://www.topix.com/forum/topstories/T06ALARHDFA2IVJV6#) Masquerade,
but seem to have remembered wrong.
Very distinctive "fin" fender

This has to be a 1957 Mercury. The 58 Mercury had dual headlights.
