Hi guys. Iīm wondering if anybody knows which is the closest paint for Unisia Jecs livery. Iīm about to start the Unisia Jecs GT-R r33 from JGTC (Tamiya kit). It comes with a full set of body colour decals, which looks kinda red, very similar to Tomīs EXIV kit decals
.
- I googled for Unisia Jecs pics and found lots of it where it looks like fluorescent orange.
- In the manual it says "TS-36 fluorescent red / signal red" to cover somewhere in the lower part of the bumper, where there will also be decals.
So... is it orange? fluorescent orange? fluo red? a mix of fluo red + orange?
Or should I just go with the "red" decal set?
(yes, I searched around the forum, but the few built Unisia kits lost their images or where painted different than actual model)
Thx

Well if I remember it from Gran Turismo 2 it was an orange colour, not red. :)

Hi
In my collection I found these pics of a Unisia Jecs Skyline. It is not the same car as your model but an earlier Skyline. But the colour is very clearly neon orange with only a light tinge of red. So TS-36 is a no go

Looking at those pictures posted above I think Zero MP4 Red could be a close match, or if you want more orange maybe Zero Fluorescent Orange..

Thx to all for your replies and pics!
MP4 red looks very close, but fluo reds tend to be "too red" when light is poor, and I want it to looks orange everywhere.
Based on that R32 Jecs I should look for a fluo orange or mix some fluo red with orange.
Does anybody know if I can mix Humbrol "Orange Enamel" with "Humbrol Fluo Red" or "Signal Red"? Thatīs what I can find in my country...

As long as you mix enamels with enamels you'll have no problem at all.
