the 78 302 has a 4barrel carb i dont belive belongs on it ,but it runs
any ideas and advice very welcomed

The later model 302 is fuel injected and would require all the wiring loom , sensors , electric fuel pump , and all associated emissions equipment be used to have the engine properly operate . I'm not a Ford engines expert but you " might " be able to use the short block from the newer engine and incorporate your earlier manifolds , carb , etc. ? Like I said , I'm no expert so I can't say for sure it would work ?

remove the intake and put yours on .you might have to replace the cam because it wont have the fuel pump cam lobe on it and the fire order might be diffrant that all i can think about oh and the oil pan but it will work no worry on all the emission junk
