junk e-mail

Since the government is cracking down on spam e-mails, have you noticed a decline in the amount of crap e-mail you get? I have. I get my email thru AOL (yeah yeah yeah I know * > AOL :rolleyes: :finger: ) and used to get 50+ emails a day ranging from mortgages to debt consolidation to enlarging your you know what's. Now the last few weeks I only get 5 or 6 emails like this a day. The funny thing is these emails are messages stating that on July 1, 2003, it will be illegal for them to send me these messages and to click the link at the bottom to "continue my subscription" :lol2:

I get 20-25 a day and it pisses me off...I wonder if mine will decrease? I'm in Canada, but most of my spam comes from the US...

ditto. i get a ton of porn spam in my hotmail account. at least 15-20 a day. most of it is either porn, or printer ink, or "make your penis bigger" pills. :rolleyes:

Same here, another way to decrease the amount of SPAM is to read those loong drawn out privacy policies...websites share your information with other companies to "target" your interest....thus the spam.

Be sure to Opt-out after you sign up with certain websites to prohibit the websites from sharing your info.

go goverment...i hate spam.....



anyway...i use mailwasher and imo it has been pretty efective...basically sends back emails to the senders that my adress has returned permanent fatal errors and basically it does not exist...so they take you off their lists....

Now that AF has it's email working again i'm back to 40-50 aday :bloated: :bloated:

I don't get much spam at all.:confused:

Ithink my ISP may be filtering it,but don't recall agreeing to my mail being intercepted.

LOL EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I filter my mail quite heavily. My personal account through charter get little to no spam because I only give it out to a select few.
