95 Escort Stalls after 45 seconds, runs rough

95 1.9 Escort Stalls after 45 seconds, runs rough. While coasting you can feel the engine kind of stumbling & surging. When I sit at a long light it will be idling OK, then all of a sudden at 45 seconds or so it will either stall or idle really rough & slow. While its doing that if I shut the engine off & restart it, it will be OK for another 45 seconds or so. I've replaced spark plugs, air filter, IAC. Any ideas or suggestions?

Had the same problem on my old 1993 escort 2yrs old at the of repair thru ford warranty .
