I have read about 30 threads regardiign brakes to see if this was answered... and it hasn't been as far as i can see... so i hope i am not repeating this question from someone else. I took off the caliper from the rotor, becuz it is seizing, and not releasing... it is on teh drivers side back.
but i don't know how to disconect it to be able to bring in parts store and get a new one to replace..... the guys i know don't know how either.. (we are not gear heads unfortunitly) so this is my last hope. Can any one here tell me and maybe show me with some pics step by step what i need to do? and do i need to worry about the emergency brake? someone told me that might need to be disconnected too. but i don't know how to know this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. :runaround:

Thanks.. that is good generic information. I was hoping to be more spacific with the vehicle in question. Incase there are any 'weird' things that are different, or should be accounted for. Was hoping someone here has replaced the back caliper on a 2001 T & C.... and could inform me of the steps...
anyone??

I've never touched brakes on that van but the procedure I'm reading doesn't mention having to disconnect the parking brake. Just the brake hose. If you like send me a private message with an email address and I'll send you the procedure with diagrams. It's for an 02 Caravan but it will be the same as yours.

Well, I had to accomplish this task last night, or no going to work today. I am proud to say i am at work today :) after watching the generic video on how to replace the caliper, and then going to O'Reiliys and asking some questions... i just decided to give it a go. Removing the caliper wasn't that hard at all. I also replaced the rotor. The hard part was puttign new one back on and not it leaking... a stupid little tiny sand pebble was stuck on the bolt that i erroneously laid on the ground. After THREE TIMES putting it on and leaking.. the 4th time i looked over all the parts, and found that stupid pebble@!!! i cleaned the bolt really good, and the washers... put it on AGAIN... and WHOOLAAHH no leaks.!!! :):) van drives b.e.a. utifuly so far.
thnks..
thnks..
