I just bought an 03 Civic ex vtec and I was looking at exhaust, headers, intake, etc.. and i've always thought that GReddy and HKS were the best, but I keep hearing about AEM being as good. What would be good bang for the buck aftermarket parts for my car, and what brands & websites are good to buy, or just read about the products? I'm having a hard time finding what I'm looking for...
really appreciate any feedback

AEM doesn't make headers or exhaust. I am a fan of Apex myself.

i think for the most part, theyre all the same. like right now, i currectly have some pos header i got off ebay, but they work fine. no rusting or cracks at all, which i heard could happen... and has with others. how tight are your emission laws? i need all those carb stickers or my car can get impounded.
for your header and intake get dc and aem. theyre more expensive but theyre also legal and come with carb approvals. as far as exhausts go, it all depends on what you like. like jcrx, i also favor apexi. i wanted a more mild exhaust compared to the huge dunks or n1's, so i got their ws catback. ill take pics whenver i get the chance to install it.

you can sometimes find good deals on greddy exhausts, though not too offen. Greddy, Apexi, DC sports and HKS all make good exhausts. I know Greddy claims they are below the required 95 dB(a) limit required by cali and some other states (CCR PG36 and SAE J11-69). I know DC Sports, and Greddy both claim to be 50 state legal. I am not sure on Apexi and HKS. I had a friend with a Greddy exhaust, it was pretty quite compared to some, but still made nice power and sound. I haven't heard the DC Sports once myself, but I have heard the same thing. DC Sports makes good headers and Intakes, AEM makes good Intakes. You wont go wrong with a Cold Air Intake from either company, or with a DC Sports header. The Cerimic coated header helps with heat down too, makin up a little for the lack of a heat sheild. www.summitsportcompact.com www.jcwsportcompact.com and www.nopi.com all are good sites if your just starting out. www.optauto.com/webstore/ (options auto salon) also has good prices sometimes on certain products. Also, if you find a lower price than summit racing (summitsportcomapct) on a website that advertises in the same magazine as them, they will match, and a lot of the time beat the price, in my experience. Options auto salon, Nopi, JC Whiteny Summit Racing all advertise in the same magizines.
