I was first looking at HRE wheels, then after reading some posts and the response to my thread I decided to go with some different wheels. I had started to look at Konigs, Rays, Volk, and some other brands.. I had sceen some wheels on TireRack.com that I liked a lot, 2 different specific ones.
Sport Edition Fox 2 Sport (http://www.tirerack.com/images/wheelrack/wheel_images/Sport_Edition/Fox_2_Sport.IA.dw.gif)
SSR Competition (http://www.tirerack.com/images/wheelrack/wheel_images/SSR/Competition.MA.dw.gif)
And the member that replied to my thread mentioned the SSR's, a brand I had only just recently sceen on tirerack... I knew they had to be pretty good because of the cost and weight, but wasn't completely sure. What do you guys think about SSR?
Also, which tires are better:
Pirelli
PZero Nero
Size:215/40-18
or
Yokohama
Parada Spec-2
Size:215/40-18
Thanks for any feedback, it's much appreciated!

SSR, Volk and Racing Hart are very high quality wheels that are forged. Meaning they use a different process than cast aluminum wheels. Forged wheels use pressure to make the metal align in certain ways so the metal is stronger but yet less metal is used so it's lighter.
If you can afford SSR wheels then you should get them They are great wheels and SO SO light :)

you have to forge the wheel... you see, for it to be nice and shiney
:flamer:
now don't touch the wheel, it is still very very hot.. touch this, it feels much better :hehe:

edit in-
Racing Hart - CP8-R are nice ass rims, off the site.. forged and only 12.5 lbs
cheaper than SSRs and look as good (better IMO)
looks like I might be buying some wheels soon

The Yokohama Parada Spec-2's should give you more wet-grip and have a hiugher trendwear rating (so they should last a little longer) I belive. I could be remembering wrong though.

If you think the Paradas are a great tire you sure haven't driven on alot of tires. Paradas rate on the low end of performance tires along with Shittos (nittos).

Just because I'm sponsored by Falken doesn't mean I will lie to you.
Yes the Azenis are a great tire on the verge of being a DOT R tire. In the 7 years I've been in the sport compact scene I've driven on ALOT of tires.
My resume:
Falken Azenis (215/45x16" & 205/50x15")
Yokohama A520s (215/40x16", 205/45x16", 205/40x17")
Yokohama Paradas I & II
Toyo FZ4 (205/40x17", 215/35x18")
Toyo T1S
Kumho Ecstas 712s (215/40x16")
Kumho 711s
Yokohama AVSi
Kumho VictorRacers
Kumho Ecsta V700s
Michelin VX4s (came with the car)
Dunlop SP Sport 5000
Dunlop SP Sport 9000
Sumito HTRZ
Goodyear Aqua Treds
Nitto 450s
Nitto 555Rs
Hoosier AS303
Hoosier RS303
Blizzacks
LM01s
So yeah I have some input on tires especially when you're trying to win at classes in the SCCA :)
