Steering Question

2004 off and on grinding/rumbling in the steering. Started out as just an occasional here and there noise but now getting progressively worse. Also you can feel it in the steering wheel/column really bad but cant hear it from outside. Also happens more when it's been driven alot, like all day one day and then alot the next kind of thing. I've been told that it could be rack/pinion going out in it but I'm not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check you power steering fluid level, check for power steering leaks around the pump, hoses and gear. If the fluid is low, or if foamy after running, it has air in the system and will cause this.

The fluid levels have been checked and all is fine. The steering doesn't get tight or anything like that though.
