Can't Shift from Park (Will start)

ok, 93 olds will not shift from park with brake pressed. I do not hear the lock disengaging when I depress the brakes.
I have checked every fuse I could find.
I do have brake lights.
I can start the car and it runs smooth.
I have verified that the brake switch and neutral safety switch are working.
Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.

Update:
Sadly...I found the shift interlock about 5 minutes after I got so frustrated that I just yanked:jerking: on the shifter til it moved:loser::loser:...
I got the interlock unplugged and removed it for now, and I have to deal with my shifter being "loose" in a way. I can shift from park but it clicks a few times while not moving the cable at all, then it engages. I can find reverse about where drive used to be, and OD is now all the way down where 1st was.
My new question is, can I replace the shifter and all the parts inside the steering column? Or will I need to find a whole new column to put on it?
I feel so dumb for doing it too...

Anything can be fixed, but pulling apart the column can be complicated, a used column requires the key remember.
