I have an '03 Silverado WT 4x4 4.8L and just replaced the dash cluster a couple months ago because all the gauges stopped working. Everything was working fine, until Saturday night. At night, the cluster lights will not light up. The PRNDL LED light and the Odometer light lights up fine, and I can dim them as well. However, the lights behind the gauges will not light up. After turning the key on and off a few times, the lights finally lit up. This morning, the lights would not light up again and I can't seem to get them to light up.
The gauges and warning lights still work. I just can't get the gauges to illuminate at night. Is there a possible short somewhere? I hope it isn't the gauge cluster because it is BRAND NEW.
Any help would be great. Thank you.

check the connector to the cluster/wires this could have been stressed out when replacing.
my guess it is in the cluster/connector as the problem.
