I have an old 94 Olds Cutlas FWD . It's stock and is a reliable work car . Occassionaly when attending the drag races , I have the urge to participate in the Stock Class.
My ? is .... are the front wheel drive cars (V6 Automatic) prone to more breakage... Transmissions , cv joints , axles etc ...than any other car ?
This is just for fun but I'm not expeienced in drag racing FWD cars .
Thx ,
Gonzo

This car does not have enough power and torque to break anything, unless an axle or the trans is on the verge as we speak. Also it is unecessaryto heat the tires in that car. No water burnouts.

Thx Max Wedge ,
That was my thought as well . I was just looking for other opinions to confirm .
Do you think the car could be consistant enough to be competitive in ET class structure ?
Thx,
Gonzo

Probably since tire spin won't be an issue nor is custom tuning, but almost 20 year old drivetrain, maybe not.
