2004 GTO versus 2003 Corvette C5

I've heard that the GTO will have an optional LS6 405hp engine. Which car is faster: the C5 or the GTO( with the LS6) ? I think that the C5 is faster even though the GTO has more horsepower.

I believe that the C5 will still be a bit quicker because it will be lighter. Also the C5 has a much better suspension, and the handling of the C5 will be better as well.

The new LS6 is comes with 405HP? damn, Ive been left out of a lot of information at work.

Just checked on the LS6 in the GTO recently at work and that's not true. The only options you have when choosing the car is color and transmission due to the fact that you have to order it from the dealership(they are being built in australia). The GTO will have an LS1 all aluminum block with around 340hp, so basically the Corvette would win in a race.
