1998 Dakota Engine Swap

I have a 98 Dakota w/ 3.9L vin "X" engine that slung a rod in 2006. The truck has been sitting ever since. It had about 145k when the engine died. The paint and interior are still in great shape. I need your opinions about replacing the engine with a rebuilt or used engine. I understand the I will need to replace hoses, belts, fuel pump in tank, and possibly alternator, water pump, power steering pump. Please reply with opinions.
