Took car to a mechanic and he showed me the strut on the driver side back is rusted out and it's only a matter of time before strut goes into the trunk. He said there is no way to fix this.
Is there anything I can do and what is parts and labor gonna be for whatever can be done.

a body shop has to take care of this. costs can vary big time, I took an old escort in one time for this issue and it cost me $350. most places would give you a free estimate

$350 and I'm in.... I also need a hose replaced and a new muffler/cadalliac converter that's gonna cost me $400 with parts and labor..... If I can get the strut mount that's rusted out for around $350 I will get all the work done instead of junking my 97 grandprix gt with 145k.

just take it around for estimates. a belt and aftermarket cat can be installed yourself for less than 400 bucks. easy things to replace.

When you see body rot like that, you have to wonder about the other side, the front cradle, brake and fuel lines, etc.

Yeah definately. For some reason the grand prixs leak at the body seams and run down the strut tower. A lot of times if you look you can see a small water trail/rust stain. I usually take sand paper and clean the area off and spray rust preventative spray then plasi dip to protect the area afterwards. I have done it to my past 3 grand prixs when changing the struts. My friends grand prix rusted out in the same place.

The other side was 98% rust free, is was fine. Don't know about the brake and fuel lines.
Also the mechanic said my car's temperature's reason front running high was because of a leak in a hose, not what I thought which was the 2 gaskets.
