I accidentally dropped a bolt into the opening below the crank sensor,

Short of unbolting the tranny is there any access to the area?

My month keeps getting better............

Im not familiar with the layout of your car, but Most transmissions connect to the engine block with bolts around the sides and top of the bell housing. At the bottom side of the bell-housing is often only a thin sheet steel plate, with small bolts holding it to the bell housing. Its to keep rocks/dirt from getting sucked up around the spinning flywheel and torque converter. You might be able to unbolt it or just bend it out of the way enough to fish out the bolt. You might have to lower the exhaust pipe, if it snakes it way between the engine's oil pan and the front edge of the transmission.
