2004 Chevrolet Tahoe

I have been told by two mechanics that the module

The symptoms are the vehicle will go into reduced power mode. It seems to happen more frequently when the vehicle has been run for a while and is hot. Does this make sense?

reduced power mode 20 mph max with your 2004 would be this part as the problem http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=533414.

so how did they determine that the other control module was the problem ? what tests did they do ? did they remove the module and test it on a module tester ? did they guarrantee this is gonna fix it ?

what dtc codes did they pull from the vehicle ?

Well I replaced the module and two miles down the road this issued happened again. So I am guessing the module is not the problem. The actual throttle body has been replaced six times in the last year and a half. The module was replaced five times with an after market unit and once with an OEM. I also had the pigtail replaced that goes to the throttle body. I have spent over $1,000 and still have the same issue. It would be safe to say I am beginning to get pissed. Any suggestions?

They did do some testing. Actually used an oscilloscope to test the voltage and type of voltage. Said they were pretty sure it was the module.

get the failure codes and post them here.

most likely this is a wiring problem. aftermarket throttlebodies do have problems. the connectors also get corroded and cause drop outs.

using a scope to see this signal drop out if at the throttle body TAC would say it is the TAC. surprised that repair techs with scope ability could not correct this very common issue with your yr/type vehicle

the throttle body is N/G !


the throttle body can be tested with a meter . a non digital ohm meter. the old type with an actual needle like on a pressure guage. the wires also with the throttle body being moved looking for drop puts as the throttle body is moved.
