Hi Friends ,

Greetings for the day,

I Have purchased Yaris Sedan 2008 (at 65k Kms) as my first car before 6 months back,

At 70k kms I have got it serviced as followed :-

* Engine Oil Brand name was = CALTEX 1 lts (Texamatic 1888 (automatic transmission fluid) attached is the image as well,
* Oil Filter Changing
* Air Filter
* Gear Oil Manual
* Radiator Water

Kindly advice now at 75k kms I have to replace engine oil, some one advice me to use mobil 5W-30 synthetic oil but here in UAE this brand is not available, pls suggest :-

* Can I use Mobil 10W 40 (for 10k kms, which is semi-synthetic)
* New Oil Filer + Air Filters are required
* Gear Oil required as well,

Also advice what all i need to replace/fill at each 5000 kms service..

i am sorry for the long story....:runaround:

Many thanks for kind advice/help to all you in advance

Jet .

The technical differences in the oil weights you describe are minimal.
I can't tell you what you can and can't do but I'm assuming that temperatures where you live range into the 90o plus range often. I live in southern Nevada and have used 20-40, 10-40, and 10-30 in my Ford Taurus without any noticeable difference. I put the heavier grades in for spring and summer, then by fall use the thinner. I garage my car so it never gets started in very cold temp's but I have 115,000 miles on it and I've not done any damage to the engine.

I must question the oil you replaved in the engine as you indicate it as * Engine Oil Brand name was = CALTEX 1 lts (Texamatic 1888 (automatic transmission fluid). This is automatic transmission fluid and is unacceptable for the engine. The engine should use 5W/30 motor oil for the best performance. You also indicate the Yaris has a manual transmission so no automatic transmission fluid is required. If 5W/30 is unavailable then 10W/40 would work... but try harder to find the 5W/30. If you want to change the engine oil every 5K, I would recommend using synthetic oil as it is much more expensive, but does have a longer change schedule.
