Mine is completely broken, ripped and bent. It's off now, just wondering what is does exactly and what if I leave it off?

It's actually an air deflector. Since your car does not have a grill to allow air flow to the radiator and condensor, the deflector deflects air up and into the radiator and condensor. You may see the eng run hotter and the a/c preformance may suffer.

GMtech1 is spot on......once had a Firebird running hot...had been to several shops for this(new thermostat, w/p, heater core, radiator, flush, etc.), and nothing fixed it.....luckily, it needed an oil change, and when I had it up in the air, saw the air dam missing.......took one off a used vehicle, and confirmed that was the problem.....

Can someone show what it looks like? I think mine may be broken off. I searched for air dam for intrigue but only shows front bumpers. Thanks.

Well I took it off and went on a 2.5 hr trip while the weather was 33C reading on the dash.
Confirmed, car's temp acted differently. Normal temp for my car has the needle inbetween 30-40%
without the air deflector car's temp 60-70%
Probable could remove it in cooler weather
is it worth the effort?
