what tranny and where code

ok im trying to find out what tranny i have. theres a gold sticker on the tranny right next to where the engine code is. it says A1 1021808, i thought it was suppose to be a s1 or a ys1. so im curious where i would find this s1 or ys1 stamped on the tranny ? cause i wanna know what tranny i have so i can buy a clutch for it. so yeah i need to know where i can find the tranny code on the tranny.

also on the engine itself near the header, i see stamped on the block

i see, 8/8 1/0 9/2 8/0 so what year is my ls, im thinking 92 since its stamped 9/2, is that right ?

i think you need to go by the first number in there, so its prolly an 88.

Are you sure its a JDM Cable tranny? because it may be a USDM Teg tranny from 90-93......... Cause i've never heard of a A1 tranny, doesnt mean that it doesnt exist, but ive never heard of it, and the tranny code is exactly where u said it was but if there is a A1 there, there might be something fishy.........

they never made an 88 ls, and i see the engine code on the block b18a

no im not sure that its a jdm tranny, i thought the udsm integra ls trannys were either a s1 or a ys1, well through 90-93 anyways
i got it from a friend, he said he knows the engine is a ls but he doesnt know what kind of tranny it is, and he doesnt know how to contact the guy who he bought the car from because he moved. im guessing the tranny is a ls with the ls motor. but i cant know for sure

so no one has heard of the the a1 tranny ?

it could be a 92 like u said........ but i'm still stumped on the tranny code....... never heard of a a1

i have a s1 tranny but its a b16 tranny. and i think ys1 is b16 too. did he say it was a b16 tranny or an ls tranny. cause you wont find s1 or ys1 on a nonb16 tranny but i can call me mechanic tommorrow for you and ask him about that a1.

YS1 came on Integra XSI w/ a B16A2 that produced 170HP and it was out of a 92-93 teg XSI from Japan and it even had LSD Stock!

It should say on a white label. All i can tell you that theres no such thing is A1 trans for ls?:confused:

Why dont you just take a picture of the trans. maybe i can tell it from there.

where did u get that info? i never heard of a1???

damn they do make an a1. go look on hasports site about the axles, and that article on the real story of axles, it says it right there a1.

I got one j1 trans. Same gearing as the USDM type r. Let me know if you're intrested. You pay shippin though. The trans is in good condition. I think it grinds a lil on 3rd adn 4th but thats on a bad clutch so i dont if its gonna still grind when u get a new clutch. Let me know man.

mellowboy how much you asking for that tranny. grinding 3rd gear is the first sign of a bad honda tranny. i've gone through 2 already. im looking for another one. im looking for lsd but if you can give me a good price i'd pick yours up.

i looked this weekend and my LS has an A1 tranny as well
