Hi Brothers, here is one of my recent completed builds. And i would like to share my WIP with you all.
The Toyota AE86 has been the ranking on my build list all the time. But I just didn't manage to find the space to put it in my actual agenda.
I have decided not to have any full detail 1:12 bike in 2012. And I will take the chance to get rid of a few 1:24 kits handy.
So this is why this AE86 become one of those unlucky ones :)
First of all, just to picked up those major body parts for tst fitting.

I am building this as the later version in the comic story. So I refered back to the comic books and have a few reference of the graphics.
I have the brief rollcage laid down with Tamiya plastic rods. (As far as I can remember these are 3mm, but I think it will be good with 2.5mm as well)

I also worked a bit on the guest seat, just to add some details around the edges.

The body work is being prepared, with the help of primer.

And I went straight to the chassis. I added some shadows with a few stades of colors, just to replicate the aging of the machine.

With some painting and masking work, the body is prepared for a brief protective coating.

Then it came to some decal works.

I didn't get th upgrade from aftermarket buckle seat at all. And I just pulled up a Kevlar Composite decal at the back.

At some point, the progress has been stalled which the clear coat was being dried. But at the end of the day, I still managed to work over the cockpit again.

And the powerful engine was also prepared.

Added to that is the exhaust, suspension and the rest around the chassis.

I tried to fill up the engine room with some wiring. But it became a never-ending story......
http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YBUXSns2d4Y/T51ybw_3TMI/AAAAAAAACTw/ZuzVbGc2ink/s1600/20120429_1.jpg
Some further test fitting after the body is polished.

And this is how it came to life and I finally get rid of one of those boxes from the shelf~!! :)

what an amazing way to get rid of one unfinished model box from your shelf. :)
awesome work, especially the weathering. too bad the anime's stopped at stage 4 though while the manga still continued.
