My daughter had the brake discs and rotors changed on her mazda 3. Everything was fine at first, but now when you step on the brake it sounds like a engine brake from a big truck. It sounds like it's coming more from one side then the other. Could it be a small rock stuck somewhere?

I think this is a manufacturers defect.. Even my Mazda 3 only 5years old car 2007 model and have checked car for brake service and they said need to replace brake booster / ABS. Whaaat????? 5years old car need to replace ABS kit? total km reading on clock only 133k.

Hi Purple!
I'm happy to answers for you. Make sure that your brake pads are in good condition on both front and back. If you get noise only need to throw on a pair of pads. If steering wheel shakes when you brake you need to get the rotors turned or replaced. Shake in steering when braking could be warped rotors.

Thanks guys. This is a 2008 with less than 60k on it. The garage that changed the brakes and rotors ripped her off because after it was changed I told her to ask them for the old parts. They didn't want to at first but they did.The old parts were almost new:nono::nono:. I drove the car last week and when you apply the brakes it sounds just like a 18 wheeler with a engine brake. I will maybe have a chance next weekend to check everything.
