Movie Reviews

I don't think we have had a thread dedicated to movie reviews.... or at least not in quite some time. I love a good movie and HATE wasting money on shitty ones. Hopefully we can collectively prevent such waste.

This was inspired by Prometheus which I just watched in 3D (at my dads request). Do not, I repeat do NOT waste your time on this one unless you feel obligated to fill the few remaining centimeters in Ridley Scott's pockets.

There was no real action in the 2 hour snooze fest. My dad and the guy down the row both took naps... justifiably so. The plot was unclear and I can't really say what happened at all, just a bunch of crap going on. All the characters either make you hate them or you forget they exist. To top it all off, my guy Idris Elba does a god awful southern drawl for some reason. Even the wierd sound effect they repeat through the trailer isn't used in the movie even once :disappoin

1/5 stars in my book

Prometheus was the exact opposite experience as The Avengers. Hoping to rectify this with the new batman, bourne, and spiderman (in order of expected awesomeness)

I see "That's My Boy" bombed at the box office. Adam Sandler hasn't made a good movie in over 10 years, why would he start now?

Not that I wish failure on anyone..... but I guess I kinda do if I'm glad that movie didn't make any money. Sandler movies are all just different reasons for him to act like a tard for 120 min. Judging by the previews there are probably some laughs but nothing you didnt really laugh at for the last 10 years if thats your thing

Anybody else would get thrown out of Hollywood but the suits, and some fans, still hold out hope that he might have one last Happy Gilmore/Billy Maddison up his sleeve. He doesn't.

Anybody check out The Amazing Spiderman this weekend? I haven't really heard much on it other than people not realizing it isn't a continuation of the Toby Maguire storyline, but a fresh start of the origin of Spiderman with the markings of a sequel all over it (different lead actor, different director, new villian, new love interest)

that's just stupid IMO. i can understand Batman b/c it's like a decade between movies

Yeah I feel you on that. At least when there were two Hulk movies within a few years, they changed director and lead actor but kept the story moving along. No need to go over it all again.

Earler this week I went to check out the Bourne Legacy. I've been a huge Bourne fan since the first movie and would take Bourne over Bond if I had to pick one guy to get ish done (unless that ish is a woman cause Bond wins that contest every time)

That said, this new Bourne movie is ass. The whole time it feels like a cheap add-on to what was an excelent franchise. Its nothing really to do with Jeremy Renner and much more to do with the garbage script/plot. Nothing much really happens. Aaron Cross (new Bourne) just gets chased around for a couple hours and brings Rachel Weiz (Weis?) along with him. All the suspence and excitement that came with JasonBourne chasing the CIA while they were chasing him is gone. There isnt even much action in the movie. Nothing even close to the Bourne hand-to-hand combat scenes that filled the first three movies.

Sorry Bourne fans, this movie is a let down.

Who really cares and wants to see the Super hero's of the 80's, or a JackAss video?
Wait until $1 movie in the hood, than see if's it worth your time + gas monies.

I'm glad you were able to enjoy it but I thought it was a huge letdown. Its a cable/Netflix watch IMO
