i have a 2000 Grand Prix Gt, 3.8L and after shutting the car off it won't start again if its hot. Sometimes it starts after a couple hours and sometimes it won't start till the next day. Is this a fuel pump ussue??

You are jumping to conclusions......
Start with the basics.......attach a fuel pressure gage to the fuel rail and check pressure.....check for spark on all 6 cylinders.....check for injector pulse on all 6......
Check for codes......

i have spark on all 6 cyls, but i dont have a fuel pressure gauge. The codes p0102 and p0442 are stored, p0102 is because i have the maf unplugged (needs to be replaced) The reason i thought it could be the fuel pump is because its done this in the past after the low fuel light came on

AFAIK You can rent a fuel pressure gauge tester at most autoparts stores and will get your money back when you return it.

When it WON'T start, have a can of carb cleaner handy......spray into the intake and see if the car starts and runs as long as you spray(will need another person)....if it starts and runs, you have a fuel problem......either the pump or the injectors are not firing...

You should confirm fuel pressure first, and also check to see if you have power and ground to the fuel pump.....If you have power and ground, and no pressure, then yes you need a fuel pump.....
Good news is, that you don't have to drop the tank......remove the carpetting in the trunk and near the back seat you will see an aluminum oval cover......the f/p is accessible under the cover....
