Most Hilarious Initial D Moment

So guys, what is the moment in Initial D that has had you rolling on the floor laughing? C'mon, there's plenty of funny stuff in all those episodes. (in fact, you could probably make a great sitcom out of Bunta and Yuiichi alone)

My pick is for seeing Bunta in a party hat for Christmas in 3rd Stage. To see him in that and to hear him saying totally deadpan "Merry Christmas" was hysterical.

when Bunta is asking takumi about the dents in the car and takumi said that Bunta must of put them there. it was the episode after the race w/dangerious shinogi (the red civic driver)

did you read the title on this forum Derek? it's the Initial D forum. it's for people who like Initial D to have their own personal place to talk about a show that THEY like. if you don't like the show, and you're going to be an asshole and make fun of it and them, then why not stay the hell out of here and let them have their fun? i'm not trying to flame you man, but honestly, i thought you were more mature then that.

Seen that happen, 2 86's beat an R-34 on the track, slightly modified but still they are 86's, kinda weird to see it happen.:22yikes:

One was a boss speed AE86, turbo 4AG o 3SGE or somethin crazy

The other was a Kei Office AE86

those cars are crazy fast and light

The R34 was stock and non-VSPEC

No man the funniest Initial D moment for me was when Itsuki saved up all his money and bought a hachi-roku to copy Takumi. Kenji and Iketani we like "it doesnt sound so good". Turns out that it wasnt a hachi-roku but a weak hachi-Go. Itsuki bought the wrong car and said "no wonder it was so cheap" then started crying when all his friends were laughing their asses off, and so was I.

Yeah, that was funny but I felt sorry for the little guy, another funny time was when Iketani, Itsuki, Kenji, and Takumi went to the water park with Mako and Sayuki, Sayuki and Takumi went on a ride together and Takumi said "ah, I can feel her breasts on my back" then the next scene it shows Itsuki in Kenjis lap basically and Itsuki says "I can feel something on my back" :lol:

the bit about chocolate and shit is Yuichi's line after Takumi beats the S13 and RPS13 on the downhill in the Hachi-Go. That bits pretty damn funny.

1 - Itsuki finding out he has just bough a hachi-go.

Acutally, the show isn't based on how good the Trueno is, but how good Takumi Fujiwara is. The Trueno is considered a slow - good but slow - car in Japan, and Takumi Fujiwara is beating every single racer that challenges him because of his skill. The racers lose to him because the underestimate him and aren't as skilled as Takumi.

The main reason Nakazato lost to Takumi is because he didn't know that the Skyline has a big 2.6 liter engine in the front and that when he braked heavily, he was wearing down his brakes quicker than he estimated. When you brake in a car with a front engine car, the engine pushes on the front wheels causing the front breaks to wear down. When you're driving a 1.3 rotary engine or a mid-ship engine car, you don't experience this problem as much.

"Or when the Civic Drifts"

The Civic wasn't actually drifting, it was grip driving. By using the e-brake, he was transfering weight to the back wheels and this allowed him to hug the turns.

Not many people own AE86's either, I've only seen one driving in Tulsa, and that guy has fairly good skill. The 86 is a good car because it 1. is relatively cheap, 2. is rear-wheel drive, 3. is pretty bare, meaning that it's up to the driver to make the car fast, and you can't rely on ABS, traction control, or four wheel drive, 4. has a light 1.6 liter engine in the front, 5. is reliable.

Those were Bozz Speed tuned Hachis, that weighed 2000pounds and had insane 20V engines, whereas the R34 was bone stock.

Has a wheezy,high revving engine in the front (although it pulls nicely through the upper revs)

5. Is reliable-In 1986! Man, you dont own an AE86, or know anyone WELL who has one.

Those cars need CONSTANT attention, replacment parts. Theyre nearly 20 years old. You need a nice bankroll to maintain one properly.

I have just started watching Initial D and in the last few days i have seen the first 16 episodes and i'd have to say pretty much anytime Itsukis[sp?] is on the screen is funny as hell like when the girls are walking down the stairs on like 1 of the first 3 episodes and when he finds about the hachi-go...lol good times...good times


and what about that civic driver is he a dick or what...if i was Iketani i would beat the living shit out of that homo..

Here's a funny moment....When Itsuki is hearing about braking through, in and before cornering then he says something like "Oh yeah, I know about braking, "oh no, going to fast Itsuki, brake brake, ok accel"... And he makes these motions of braking and make the wierd face. That shit is hilarious. You gotta see it to appreciate it though...it is funny in the manga too.

1. You're still not getting it man... Nakazato lost because he's stupid. He didn't know how to drive an R32 and didn't realize that a 2.6L engine makes the front heavy. If you were driving an R32, I'm sure that Tulsa's AE86 would smoke you in the Sand Springs corners, because you aren't very skilled or experienced in cornering.

2. Have you ever watched Initial D? Can you read the subtitles or is that to hard for you? Bunta(Takumi's father) was an F1 racer, he had many hookups in the racing world and tuned the 86 very well. The brakes were most definately changed. How can disc brakes be "pissants"? And you can get Brembos aftermarket brakes. They don't make Brembos exclusively for the Skyline. DUH!

They are cheap, I found one for $3500 that came with a 20V Supercharged 4-AGZE engine transplanted in it. This car had been completely revamped, new supspension, brakes, paint job, tires. You can find one in good condition for $2500 easily. Sounds like your "friend who had 3 of them" got ripped off pretty badly... The 4-AGE engine is reliable too, generally lasting 200,000+ miles.

My Prelude doesn't come with ABS or TCS, but after driving my car for a year and a half, I've learned to pump the brakes and brake in cadence before stopping. And TCS is a relatively new thing, a 3rd Generation Prelude wouldn't come with TCS. DUH! And you drive a BMW - or so you say - , so don't talk to me about drifting. You couldn't drift in that car if you were Keiichi Tsuchiya.

He doesn't get the high revving engine until the middle of the second season. During the first season he's using the 4-AGE engine that redlines at 7500. I still don't know what you meant when you said "wheezy".

I have watched Pokemon before, I babysit my lil bro often, and he was into it.

1. YOU are still not getting it. The r32 won because Initial D is a TV show. I chalaenge you to go on Club4AG, and ask if what happened is realistic. Then watch as you get flamed. I dont know about Tulsas AE86, but you make it sound like its some god ala the Akina AE86. First, get an R32 down there and race.

2. No, I had my Japanese freinds translate it. The hachi discs are pissant cuz theyre physcially small. When you have 14" wheels, your discs are gonna be small. Brembo makes replacment rotors for the AE86, but again, theyre pretty small, i dont know exactly, but they cant be more than 10" in diameter.

3. They make it out as if he was driving, but you are right, he was e-braking.

There are 20 regulars who go and drift everything from 240s to IS300s, and a couple Hachis thrown in.
And yes Ive seen Cali AND Hawaii drifting, and I even talk to some people via IM

I have a BMW, with pics and witnesses to prove it. Guess what. I NEVER said it could drift. Its got too many electronic aids. Ive seen an E36 M3 get sideways, but thats the extent of it.

Youve gone to many message boards, and read peoples topics. Ever seen one, much less worked on one? My friends still runs, but it needs a re-build.

Your Honda will last, but my BMW has 1100km on it, so its not likely too outlast the BMW.

Thanks for the advice WhiteBlur. But I don't think Dorikin's that bad. All his arguements were based on his hating the 86 because his "friend had 3". I consider our argument closed. He hasn't gotten any more points across than he had in his first reply.

I think when Itsuki is taking Takumi to Lake Akina on his Levin and he asks "How far have you gone with Mogi?" and he says "last week we........ went to the lake." Also when they're following Iketani to see his date and he spots them.

Why is it so hard to understand that on a very steep downhill mountain pass like Akina a R32 can be beaten because of its weight, turbo lag, brake wear, and inferior driving skills. Are there any steep mountain passes like those in Initial D in the US or Canada?

Theres a couple scatered throughout various regions in the country. Japan is far more rugged than Canada or the US.

I honestly cannot except that a 400hp car, with two turbos to minimize lag(GT2835s will give a Skyline 400hp, and have little if no lag), Brembo brakes, 4WD and 4WS can be beaten by a 130hp car....

But, since Initial D isnt real, they can do what they like.

Its not cheap. Ask any AE86 owner. Theyre in the worst shape and often needs thousands of dollars in rust repair, new parts etc. It adds up, I know, my friend has 3 of them

Is pretty bare, meaning if your an in-experienced fanboy bedwetter (no names) your gonna crash cuz your only used to Hondas, FWD, Dbl. Wishbone, ABS and TCS

Has a wheezy,high revving engine in the front (although it pulls nicely through the upper revs)

5. Is reliable-In 1986! Man, you dont own an AE86, or know anyone WELL who has one.

Those cars need CONSTANT attention, replacment parts. Theyre nearly 20 years old. You need a nice bankroll to maintain one properly.
