Hey everyone,
Not many of you here will remember me, as I used to post in the street model part of the forums.
After a 7yr hiatus, I've picked up the models again.
I have a few on the go. So my progress will be dragged out a bit.
I'm building this for my uncle as he's a die hard Ford man and when we went to a hot rod meet we saw one that caught our eyes. So, the build is inspired by this. I'm not making a replica, just using it as inspiration.
So far all I've done is prepped, primed and layed a coat of Alclad black.
Cheers
Blair

Cheers Matthew! Glad it was you that said that and not some newbie! :D
It's good to see there's still some of the original crew on here.

Are you going to leave it black or do a metallic sort of green like your inspiration? I really like your idea and can't wait to see where it goes! Good to see you 'round again, I think a lot of old timers lurk around still.

Thanks man, sorry for the late reply. Things got busy and this was shelved and I'm back in it now though. Stand by for pics. Old timers lol

Thanks man, Instagram is great huh! I'm in the process of making just a modelling account.
So here's where I'm up to. Still alot to do, but It's looking good so far. I'm in the process of lowering it.
Interior

Still gotta detail the exterior, front and rear window trims are done.
49412
Also I cut the leaf springs from the diff to add lowering blocks, I reckon I'll need about 5mm.

The ball is really rolling now. Glued in the lowering blocks and painted the rest of the window trim. Only got pics of the suspension as my camera went flat :loser:

Ok, a lot more progress this week.
I finished off detailing the body by painting the window trims and finishing off the stripe detail.
49437
Also mocked up the planned ride height and painted the lowering blocks.
49438
49448
Assembled the distributor, man that was fiddley!
49443
49445
And stripped chrome parts and then painted with Alcad paints.
49449
I'll try to stick to a weekly update.
Cheers for looking.

Ok, flickr was a pain to create another separate account. So I've started another photobucket account.
This is where I am up to as of tonight.

Distributor is nearly complete.

The fitting of the front window was a real pain and it was smaller than the frame, so it set crooked. Guttered, but that's life lol.

Fitted the aircleaners and carbs to the manifold, still got to detail the filters.

Got a bit done this week, but I have had a set back. I'll show you that soon.
First up the engine is wired, took about 2hrs to fit this after realising that the original leads were too short. I ended up fitting the dizzy and made each wire one by one. Lesson learnt. (that's what it's about)
http://i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag25/circuitr/IMG_1048_zpsa40bfcef.png (http://s1297.photobucket.com/user/circuitr/media/IMG_1048_zpsa40bfcef.png.html)
Lucky I checked the ride height with the engine in. I reckon it's just over 1mm of clearance!
http://i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag25/circuitr/IMG_1053_zps68acf9ac.png (http://s1297.photobucket.com/user/circuitr/media/IMG_1053_zps68acf9ac.png.html)
Finished the interior, and it's now fitted to the body as I've also fitted the windows.
http://i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag25/circuitr/IMG_1014_zpsde7cb1b8.png (http://s1297.photobucket.com/user/circuitr/media/IMG_1014_zpsde7cb1b8.png.html)

Also fitted the radiator and air intake vent mesh. Still to detail the lights and intake vents as there is no chrome on this car!
http://i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag25/circuitr/IMG_1071_zps9758b000.png (http://s1297.photobucket.com/user/circuitr/media/IMG_1071_zps9758b000.png.html)

And here's my set back. The cat jumped onto the desk during the day and must have landed on the hood (which was upside down as I had glued the front lip on) and scratched the paint off!
http://i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag25/circuitr/IMG_1066_zpsc8ca9e6f.png (http://s1297.photobucket.com/user/circuitr/media/IMG_1066_zpsc8ca9e6f.png.html)

Ok, bit more of an update this week.
After I calmed down, I stripped the paint off the bonnet filled the bonnet pin holes as I had lost one earlier in the week. (so this had to be done anyways, still not happy with the cat though) and it now has two coats of primer. Hopefully this weekend I will get the base coat on.
http://i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag25/circuitr/IMG_1121_zps55d2e860.png (http://s1297.photobucket.com/user/circuitr/media/IMG_1121_zps55d2e860.png.html)
I then painted the extractors with Alclad exhaust manifold. First time using this colour, I'm impressed with it.
http://i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag25/circuitr/IMG_1127_zps081f0251.png (http://s1297.photobucket.com/user/circuitr/media/IMG_1127_zps081f0251.png.html)
Then fitted the extractors to the engine and installed into the chassis. I think they have about 1/2mm ground clearance!
http://i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag25/circuitr/IMG_1132_zps8438d345.png (http://s1297.photobucket.com/user/circuitr/media/IMG_1132_zps8438d345.png.html)
