I have a 2002 olds intrigue 3.5 it was badly maintained when i got it have spent the last year or so on repairs backed up maint etc i have planned to dump tranny fluid and new filter but the tranny when ever it wants to bump shifts or hard shift whatever you want to call it when you feel every shift when it does that i watch rpms and let off gas at 2k it bypasses the problem but am concerned and confused by it it is random whenever it feels like it im pretty sure its going out had a Taurus where the tranny blew but that was intermittent slamming the hell out of the gears and eventually it blew i hope this is not the case but im sure all the replies will just tell me what i fear thanks for humoring me anyway thanks

Usually, when a transmission code is set, the PCM may command full line pressure from the pressure control solenoid....this will cause harsh shifts....first thing to do is check for transmission codes.....

Change the tranny filter and reuse the old gasket (reusable). Do a search on this Intrigue Forum for Lube Guard (tranny additive). =helps unfreeze tranny solenoids that stick from gummy old tranny fluid.

=cheapest solution and you can manually shift it for now (2k+ rpm)

***when you do a search always do it from the first Intrigue page =you search the entire Intrigue forum and not just a sub-part***

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/cr/B0007ZAJRM/ref=aw_d_cr_automotive?qid=1337986846&sr=8-2

=very good feedback from Tranny mechanics and people with tranny issues ---> that is a very hard crowd to please.

LubeGuard offers 2-part product with a cleaner (flush) and then the regular LubeGuard. --> Search on Amazon for LubeGuard.

With that LubeGuard 2 piece kit it is not really a true flush, hook the tranny lines up to a machine thing.

You add the Lubeguard flush to existing tranny fluid (may need to take some out) to break down the sludge and drive it some. Replace all the fluid and add new with the LubeGuard.

The two piece LubeGuard kit is new to me.

a little better gas mileage engine temp down etc so im a believer by results not dumb ads

not the question if anyone is reading this any more

but the two questions i have are

one me and my dad always butting head one additives he says junk wast of time like the tranny kit yall were so nice to tell me about and i say they help what are the opinions on that

secound a shop told me to just over fill the tranny with the tranny flush you told me about as long as not used driven for a long period is that right or wrong

i also used that dr tranny or whatever from the same company hopeing and waiting to find out since it will be a while till we can afford to flush that ones not a question

thanks so very much for looking and taking your time to answer
