Engine swap questions

I'm looking at a 1990 with a blown engine. I new to the Miata world. I know the 90-91 had some enigne issues though. Main bearings or something as I recall.

So my question is this, if I was to purchase this car what model year engines are realatively compatible. Yes I know ECU's and moter mounts can change, I'm just checking to see if I can drop a 95 in rather easily. I'd rather drop in a newer model engine if possible if it can only take a 90-91 then so be it.

Any advice is appreciated.

Thank you,

Randy

Well if they have the same size, (it should) it should fit right in for the 95. Or just engine swap it.
