1995 88 has fuel in the oil

I replaced the spark plugs, PCV valve, and the rubber line that sucks vacuum from the intake to the vacuum reservoir. The good news is the spark plugs looked exactly as they should. The bad news is I broke the nylon line and the flange where it attaches to the vacuum reservoir, so I'm hitting the junkyard today to replace the reservoir. I understand the nylon line is for HVAC, since it goes through the firewall and into the passenger cabin.

The problem is I have gas in the oil now. When I drove the car to where I was doing the work, the engine was fully warmed up and everything was normal when I took the oil filler neck off to take off the engine cover. After doing the work I just described, I drove it around for about 10 or 15 minutes to get it up to temperature to make sure it was running alright. I got back and took the filler neck off again to put the engine cover on, and it stinks like a lawnmower. The oil definitely has fuel in it. I have never ever smelled fuel in the oil before, even after shorter hops. I've never smelled any fuel in the engine compartment and still don't. I didn't ever touch the FPR but I will check the lines to it again to be sure. Any ideas for what else to check?

A leaking injector or 2 can cause fuel to get past the rings into the oil pan is one possibility, if it runs ok then it just may be bleeding down when shut off down. Also make sure the fuel pressure is not to high and you have good vacuum to the regulator.

So, if you pull the dipstick, do you smell fuel on the end of the dipstick?

When was last oil change? If it's been awhile, change the oil and filter....then check daily to see if you have this fuel smell on the dipstick.....do you drive a lot of short trips?

Pull vac line to fuel pressure reg and see if there is fuel in the vac line.....

Has the vehicle any driving issues? Misfire? Hard start?

Any codes set?

As Max said, get a fuel pressure gage on that rail, and turn key to run on a cold engine(don't start it)...cycle the key several times(wait 10 seconds before turning back on), to get max pressure reading.....then, how quickly does the pressure drop, in one minute, 5 minutes, 10 minutes.....then do the same thing on a hot engine....shut engine off, get max pressure, and time the drop at the 3 intervals...

If the fuel drops immediately, could be any of several things, like a regulator, injector, fuel pump, or a leak.....

Also, did you plug that broken vac line? If no, that throws off the MAF readings, and also creates a lean condition which would cause the vehicle to run rich.....also where both orings in place when you replaced the PCV valve?
