I put my '96 Suburban up for sale on Craigslist yesterday. Had 2 immediate inquiries. This was my listing
http://lasvegas.craigslist.org/cto/3014090028.html but I changed it. http://lasvegas.craigslist.org/cto/3017860514.html
Then this morning, this:
"Thank for your mail. I'm satisfied with the condition of it as
advertised in the listing,i will like to add $100 to your final price
for you to keep off from all offer, and consider it sold to me alone as
i am serious with this.I would like you to know that i am really
interested in buying this for my father, payment will be through PayPal
and the pick up will be arranged by me as i will have my agent come
down to pick it up...i will be waiting to hear from you,and i will
like you to send me the name and email address on the PayPal account
to send the payment and send me more pics of this item if available
since i would not be seen it in person so i can pay it right away I am
a busy at work and do not have much time around me.Make sure you get
back to me so that we can arrange for pick up as i will like the item
to be picked at your residence,so no shipping
Thanks and reply asap.
Regards"

I would only deal local, and meet at a local bank were cash in hand for the title.

That would be my preference...or a close by shopping center. I know Paypal transactions can be reversed. If they are as faulty as those Nigerian cashier's checks I'll just pass. In fact, I should sent the message to Craigslist security I suppose.

95% scam! When I put some stuff on Craigslist years back I got the same kind of response. Now I just give my phone number and no e-mail address. Notice how it's worded and you know it's not from any where local.
If you want to make sure, give them a phony PayPal account. See what happens. My bet is they'll start asking you for money.
My advice=Disregard and delete.

Me to on my first Craigslist post. Only didn't give an email, just my phone number. I am thinking they have computer programs to find emails and phone numbers. After that first one I spell out my number IE 573 would be five seven three..... I am gonna up the guy ahead, I would say 99.99 percent scam. I personally know no one willing to pay more than asking price for anything. Not to mention they have the grammar of a 6 year old.... I have listed 4 or 5 vehicles on it sense then and have had zero scam calls on any of them. A human will have no problem decoding a typed out number may try for instance

make phone numbers and emails look "not normal" humans never find scam targets, it is a computer program I bet...

I changed my ad a little (read the last line):

Not that wouldn't love a buyer who pays more than I ask, but come ON!
JYOUNT; I've seen that and wondered why. I think I'll go back and use your method. Thanks.
