Hello guys !
I start a new project for production.
It Nissan 240 RS Group B rally.
I think it's the only car of the legendary Group B, which is not released in a plastic or resin kit.
I think it would be a full complete set of resin.
Will Monte Carlo Rally 1983, Timo Salonen.

http://romik505.users.photofile.ru/photo/romik505/96646779/xlarge/127827716.jpg
That's what will be used:
http://romik505.users.photofile.ru/photo/romik505/96646779/xlarge/127827722.jpg
http://romik505.users.photofile.ru/photo/romik505/96646779/xlarge/127827724.jpg
From the Skyline will be used chassis with front suspension and engine. Certainly two of the cylinder will be removed. at Skyline 6 cylinder engine, and I need a 4 cylinder.
I began to change with the body.
http://romik505.users.photofile.ru/photo/romik505/96646779/xlarge/127827725.jpg
The rear bumper was cut off. It will be a separate part.
I started doing the back panel, because some of it will be visible. And so I'll do the new taillights.
And just as the lower part of the rear fender to be changed.

Hello Romik!!!
Wonderful project, and your driver choice is perfect, Salonen drove very impressively against Group B Turbo-4WD beasts.
I believe that you would find better engine base from this kit:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/AOSHIMA-1-24-DIRT-TRIAL-GAZELLE-B-II-TYPE-WRC-/310393309373#vi-desc
It's a FJ20 engine in that kit, but I have understood that it is same as FJ24 of RS240, just a bigger bore. At least the valve cover is identical.
Good luck with your project!

Hello .
Spede , Thank you for the link. But there is a turbo engine. And the Skyline engine has the correct intake manifold. I compared the photos, the engine from Skyline very similar, but the extra two cylinders.
I will make pictures in the evening.

Allrighty, just googled some pics of Skyline's engine and you're right. It really looks same, just two sylinders more. Probably japanese have used same base engine for 6- and 4-syl. engines.

Wowowowwww !!
This is probably my most wanted Group B except a correct complete 205 Turbo 16 Evo2 so you can imagine how much I will follow this new project and want the model !!
I personaly would prefer 84 season car, slightly different livery but a bit nicer to me, and cars became left hand drive during the season.
But 83 or 84 you may get success with it.

Yes Roman, I'm mostly interested in the 84 season car, MonteCarlo, Corsica or Portugal version... or another one
there also was a Private car in Portugal 85 (?) with "Lois" sponsor over black body, could be another one to release.
For the wheels I may have a solution because as you know I already worked on the car too, so I thought about the wheels question.
Will let you know it soon.
Do you think 83 and 84 season liveries could be done on same decal sheet ?
don't want to insist but... :icon16:

Hi there!
Great project!!!
About wheels, check Scala24. I bought a simil Targa 4 spokes, that I used for a SEAT 124 FL, Zanini at MonteCarlo 1977 #12.
http://farm5.staticflickr.com/4128/5022415515_3f963324cc_n.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/rodarpelmon/5022415515/)
SEAT 124 (http://www.flickr.com/photos/rodarpelmon/5022415515/) por rodarpelmon.com (http://www.flickr.com/people/rodarpelmon/), en Flickr
May be too small for the Nissan, but you can make it larger.
Will follow it, and hope to be able to get one kit!!!

Waow !! this is gonna be another excellent Group B rally car on the 1/24 models market !!
Have you finally considered releasing the 84 version ? I have a set of wheels from a nissan road car which could fit the car.
Also if you would build a right hand dashboard and a left one you would let more possibilities to builders to eventualy build private cars.
The 85 Portugal "Lois" sponsored car would pleased all Portuguese builders. :)

Hello!
I am on vacation. And a little more time for construction.
I changed the hood and front bumper. I'll start running part and will do inside the body. And I will make small objects on the body.
I think that to use these wheels on the Tour de Corse.

Hi guys.
Small update. Made the instrument panel.
http://romik505.users.photofile.ru/photo/romik505/96646779/xlarge/129167514.jpg
And some parts of the engine.

Valve cover cut into three pieces
I have a picture engine, and see a different intake manifold. I made the air filter box. But the intake pipe will also be available. I think , used a variety of options, depending on the coverage of the route, perhaps?

Very nice dashboard.
Will you offer both left and right hand drive options ? Still just aiming to be able to build another 84 or private version.

Hello! Thank you for your feedback.
Yes, Phil, I plan option for left hand drive. But just need to find the strength to convert the instrument panel to the left hand .

Hi Romik,
Great job on the Nissan. Just a small detail. You should probably change the spare wheel location. According to thsi picture it is on the opposite side. (i'm not 100% sure it is authentic, but it should be:)

Hello !
Yeah, maybe you're right about the place of the spare wheel. But the photo contradictory, I looked at it, and here is the place on the right. I do not know what would be right. Change a place for the spare wheel is not difficult.
Thank you.

Hi Romik,
i really don't know, it could be even in the middle... The exaust is on the left for sure- see attached picture, but the spare wheel:screwy:. There was a video "A place in the sun" or something like that in Youtube showing good details of the car in 1983, but it si already removed due to copyrights. Anyway, probably it is not so important, so go ahead:runaround:

Hello John .
Thank you. Completely scratch built : tanks, exhaust manifold, cross stiffening , pipes to the radiator, engine mounts.
But there all parts have been modified, the engine was a 6 cylinder. :)

Hello !
I have done almost all the main parts for Nissan. And made another assembly for verification. It is not very convenient because everything is kept on an adhesive tape and a drop of superglue. All the time that it breaks down.
