I am working on a deal for a 2011 Equinox LTZ, white in colour. But it was a demo vehicle, are these good vehicles to buy. Its 6 hours a way so I want to know if its worth going down to see in Calgary. They are around 42-43,000 new and they had it listed at $37,995 and will give it to me for $35,000 taxes included (so $33,333 plus 5% taxes)
Loaded
Panoramic sunroof
power driver seat
power lift gate
cargo security cover
leather heated seats
memory seat
chrome package
2600 kms (it was a demo vehicle)
V6
AWD
Pretty much everything except navigation

2,900 off a 1.5 year old used car? Not a good deal! Plus it would not have sold for list price to begin with.

Lol, not sure where you get 2900.00 but its listed at 37995 plus 5% gst which is 39894.75 and I am getting it for 35000 including taxes, that would be 4894.75 off list price and about 10,000.00 off its original sale price.

Mileage?
This vehicle is almost 2 years old.......amazing how much it depreciates, once it leaves the parking lot.....want to get an idea? Take a ride to another Chevy dealer, and tell him you want to trade in your Equinox for a Traverse(tell him you want more room).....tell him it's the LTZ model, 6 cyl, it's mint and it's mileage(say wife is using the vehicle), ask what he will give for a trade in on it(tell him it's paid off)....make sure you are sitting down...
And be prepared for 20mpg(combined city/hwy).....
For $36,595 LTZ 1LT(list, but I'm sure you can get a saleman to sharpen his pencil for a lower price), you get this 2012, with navigation, new:

The mileage is 2,650 kms.
And that link is for a 2.4L this is a V6.
So totally different in price. New these vehicles are 42-43 if you look on auto trader or other website. Also Canadian pricing.

Ok so you are talking yourself into this deal, why bother to look for support on what is still not a good deal! No one sells cars for list price, so forget the 37, 995. Based on US figures in the NADA guide this truck is 32k plus tax. That truck was no where near 47k new here, so our advice seems to not correlate with Canadian numbers. Check the provided link above.

The advice and numbers others have given so far haven't been the same vehicle as above. In canada the 2012 exact sameV6 model is listed at 42-43K, the 4 cylinder model around 38-39K. With only 2600 kms I would think that almost 10k off original MRSP was decent, but people here are telling me now, but giving me non accurate figures, compared to the one in question. I never said anything about 47K anywhere in any message. US cars are much lower priced than canadian, and I unfortunately can't buy one from the states. Also the link earlier wasn't for the same vehicle as I've described, therefore not accurtate.

If someone wants to comment with accurate numbers and information based on what ive written in the original message that would be great. So I guess also you are saying 5,000 of their list is also "not a good deal"?

I have not done ANY research on the price for your vehicle, but from what I have seen personally, 10,000 off is pretty much the norm for a dealer demo. You are paying way less than sticker and still get MOST of the factory warranty. If it's what you have been looking for, and you are comfortable with it, go for it.

Look again, the link I gave you was for a V6....

Your price seems to be in the ballpark. I have a couple of comments
1. A Calgary dealer has a similar 2012 Equinox advertised on Kijiji. Price would be about the same once you started talking with them. Another thing which you've already caught on to - do not compare with US prices and miles/gallon. Prices are even different in other provinces.
2. Perhaps watch out for other charges such as documentation fees, a/c tax etc. Find out the bottom line because as you say, it's quite a drive from Cold Lake.
3. A couple of threads in this Forum seems to indicate that the Equinox fuel consumption is quite a bit worse than advertised by GM. I don't have any Equinox mileage experience.
4. Have you checked out Kijiji in Alberta?
5. I do like the vehicle myself, but it is too pricy for me. Good luck.

Thanks for your reply!
Yes, the one I was looking at was in calgary actually. It was one of the only used I had liked. Upon test driving some, we found that my husband did not fit in ones with a sunroof! So we did not go to calgary. We ended up buying new...
2012 Equinox 2LT
V6 AWD
Jet Black Leather
Pioneer sound system
Navigation and touch screen audio
Backup camera
POwer liftgate
Lane departure and collision alert
17" wheels
8 way power driver seat
38,500 sticker price
Quite possibly the only one left with these options in AB, SK and BC
Had it delivered overnight from another dealer, a lucky find :)
