Clock illumination...

I picked up a '95 Astro Cargo Van with stock very basic fm radio, and the clock stays illuminated after I shut the van off, even if I remove the key. Does anyone know if this is supposed to remain lit? I may have a dying battery too, but it's dead after a day or so. I haven't checked for an actual draw, as I've got a few more things to do to it before it's ready to be sold. Just wondering if they all do that....
Thanks!
Thanks!

Your vehicle may be equipped with RAP, (Retained Accessory Power). If it is equipped, the radio, power windows, and certain other accessories will operate for about 10 minutes after the ignition is shut off, or until a door is opened, which ever happens first. It's possible the relay or timer are faulty. If not equipped with the RAP option, no, it is not normal, it should shut off when you turn the ignition off. If it remains lit, it will drain the battery. Most likely there is a short to power in the radio circuit.

Thanks, that's what I thought. It doesn't have RAP, although I didn't know what that feature was called until I just read it. I was going to pull that factory radio anyway. I'll yank it and see if my battery can stay up for more than two days. Thanks again.

I had one in a C/K truck do this- owner had fuse removed to prevent battery drain- but it also never remebers radio presets with that fuse out...
I bought a $25 OEM replacement radio off Ebay and it fixed the problem
