adjusting the valves

make sure the car is cool. remove valve cover. set #1 cylinder at TDC.
use a wrench and a screwdriver to adjust the valves, you'll see what i mean. stick the feeler gauge in between the rocker arm and the valve, it should move with *slight* tension. once its set to teh proper size, hold the screwdriver still and tighen up the nut.
turn the engine 1/4 turn which should be TDC on #3. repeat.
firing order 1-3-4-2, go in that order

hey check out my thread about the shopmanual, d/l it and it has all that including the clearances it should have.

i found my chiltons and it says .007-.009 (either that or .0007-.0009, i can't remember)
another question, if the valves have been clickin or whatever youw anna call the noise for almost a week, how much damage has been done? And how would i know if the valves have been warped from them.
