I was installing a stereo and accidentally mixed up the power antenna wire with the stereo ground. Nothing blew up, but the stereo ground no longer supplies a ground connection with the stereo the the instrument panel shut off, so I just grounded the stereo to bare metal. Also, when I disconnected the battery and re-connected it the instrument cluster came back on.

So I'm OK with that part.

But no so much with what happened after the fact.

Now the car shuts off sometimes, mostly right after I start it, but I can re-start and drive off.

Sometimes while driving the speed gauge goes down to 0 and I can feel the motor die and kick back on and the speed gauge needle shoot back to the right speed.

Car info: Dodge GC 1996 3.3L MFI

My thoughts are that I burned a ground connector. Where are those located?
