My window washer pump is not working so I opened the side trim tested the power across connecter while someone was holding the switch and I got power so I ordered a new pump. But it still does not work. So I thought maybe a clogged line but first I tested the pump by plugging it on to the connector and putting the end into a cup. It did not work. I am at wits end if there is power why is the pump not going on? I tested the pump by giving it power power and it works. Any help or ideas wold be appreciated.

Use a test light to check for power, not a voltmeter.....if you had power, when you hit the switch you would hear/feel that pump run.....

Thanks for your reply. i did put a light across and it lights when I hit the switch. The pump also works when I give it power directly to the pins from an outside source. I am totally perplexed!

OK, if you disconnect the harness to the washer pump, and attach a test light across both leads of the harness, does the test light, light bright when the switch is activated?
If yes, but doesn't run when connected to the pump, check the leads in the harness to see if they are tight and not loose.....and check the leads in the washer to see if they are straight and not bent......

The light does light. Seems to be bright. Harness is tight and leads are straight also tried a new pump and did not work.
