For all the Ferrari F1/Schumacher fans who build the Studio 27 kits, here's the latest Prancing horse to join the modelling stables:

Looks fantastic, I really want this one now!!

Not much interest eh?:(

Just an update, it is reportedly out in June 2003 according to HLJ:)

This ain't a car anymore... it a rocket with wheels and that's the main point that get me pissed off of F1 racing. Rally of GT racing is way cooler but yes, the all new Ferrari is something.

This is probably something for an F1 Forum, but I think this year will not be a runaway title for Ferrari, especially with the Mclaren Mp4/18 on the way.

Anyway, gonna get that kit

It looks fantastic but I would wait to see if Tamiya do it, which i expect they will do. I wonder if Studio27 can afford to keep producing models that get made by the main manufacturers? In recent months they have released the Honda RC211v and WilliamsFW24. I know they release them first and no doubt get a few sales from the die-hard enthusiasts, but i doubt this is enough to recoup the research, manufacturing and production costs nevermind make a profit!!!

Modelers went bust a while back and i wonder if it was for the same reason??? They too released expensive resin kits only to have the big boys make them months later, namely the Lancia 037 and Ford Focus.

This is exactly why i dont bother doing alot of motorsport stuff. I mean it would be great to make a 2003 Focus transkit or such like, but not only do i run the risk of the more well established garage manufacturers beating me to it, there is also the strong possibility Tamiya or Hasegawa may be on the case.

Chris,

I heard the Tamiya were not going to do the F2002 (probably because of the FW24), but I don't know whether they're gonna do the F2003GA. It would be rather silly to spend all that money on the Ferrari licensing and not use it. I envisaged that they would model the Ferrari's like they did of that run of Mclarens in the 80's/90's.

I heard that Modellers went bust/didn't bother with the 1/20th kits anymore. I recently managed to get the McLaren MP4/15 for £75 (not bad considering it was £100+). I think Studio 27 will fair a bit better as they sell other more 'affordable' stuff like decals.

I think you will always get competition (from Renaissance in particular) for the latest motorsport stuff, but if you look back a few years (i.e Mercedes Benz DTM/ITC transkits for the 1996 season, etc) or when the big boys limited edition stuff is discontinued, then you may stand a chance in this field.

Will Tamiya do the F2003GA???

I look at it this way - its a completely different design to what we have seen in the last couple of years and its an important car in Ferrari's F1 history - I think they will!

Let's hope you're right chris.

i was pretty surprised that they did the F2001 actually. It looked like a upgrade of the 2000 kit, but they say it was a new model:confused:

Well I for one would like to see anything BUT Ferrari. I've built more Ferraris than I can count, because that's all Tamiya's been producing lately for us diehard F1 fans. I have the FW24 already, but am NOT impressed with the cylinder heads at all.(figures...in Montreal when we used to be able to roam the pits after the race, the only garage with closed doors was Williams)

Hiro, is AMD's F2003GA in 1/20th scale? Are they cheaper than Studio 27? The pics look good.

Sure it’s a beautiful car and I’m also sure that if Tamiya release it I will buy it.
But I’ll be much more happy if they go for something new instead of 6 Ferraris (Ferrari F310B, Ferrari F1-2000, Full-View Ferrari F1-2000, Ferrari F2001, Full-View Ferrari F2001, and F2003GA if it comes out) that almost monopolised Tamiya’s F1 new releases in the last years.
F1 lovers for sure will appreciate more the release of some other modern F1 cars (like Tamiya done with the brilliant FW24) or even with the release of some classic cars of the golden years of 60 and 70.

i'm sure that if raikkonen wins the title they'll make the McLaren instead of the Ferrari, like they did when Hakkinen won. We'll have to see, they tend to do championship winners now, but they obviously got bored of Ferrari this year.

Yeah, it's 1/20 scale, and price is US$ 150.00.
You should visit AMD Models site: http://www.amdmodels.net
for the dealer near you.
Or, I can take orders, and ship it from Japan. (yup, I'm selling their kit in Japan.)
However, everyone should wait for the S27 kit, compare them and decide.
I think Perfect Parts seat belt in the AMD kit is really a good deal, and it has all the decals, while non-japanese release of S27 kit won't have the Marlboro decal.

really?s27 doesn't ship marlboro with non jap versions?is it the same with the new peugeot decals?
