If you have a "pellet" in you key, Look here:

there is no chip in the key. Its a standard key

Are you completly sure that the original key do not have a resistor in the key? Should be a kind of pin sticking out on the sides...

I can't find the confirmation that you have the version with the resistor in the key (passlock 1) or the one where it use magnet and hall sensor...

But in both case, if there is damage to the mechanism, the reading will have issues and you will get problems.

One way would be to permanantly disable the passlock feature. One way is to cut the yellow and black wire and install a resistor there (470 to 10k iirc, value not important) and redo the relearn procedure.

Another way to temporrary bypass it: start the car, then once the car run disconnect the 3 pins harness at the ignition. Your security light will turn on, but the car shouln't die... until you disconnect the battery or discharge the batt too much (like forget the headlight on).

I am not sure for passlock 1 bypass procedure, but I beleive it's the same.

I am going to look at the wiring but i believe the is only three black wires running to the ignition one of which has a white line.

for the passlock harness, there is 3 wires, but one is unused.

I found the yellow and black wires and put in the resistor but the problem is that when i try to do the relearn proceduture it does work.
all the relearn procedutures i have read all say that after so long with the key on the theft sys light turns off. after turning the key to the on position the theft light stays on. If i try to start the car starts for a minute then the theift light flashes and the car stalls then the theft light goes solid again.

This is a PassLock system, so there is no pellet....it uses a regular blank key.....

What was replaced? From the sound of it, it should have been the lock cylinder AND the PassLock module.....when the Module is replaced, the relearn procedure must be done....

Did you follow the procedure correctly?

If a new PassLock cylinder was installed, remove that resistor, and reconnect the wires(solder them or crimp them)....

Have a battery jumper box attached to the battery.....

Apply e-brake(keeps auto headlights off)....

Now turn key to the crank position, and release....car may start and die.....the THEFT light will flash or stay on solid......after 10 minutes, the light should stop flashing(if it was flashing) and go out, or the solid light should go out....

With the light out, turn key to off, wait five seconds, and turn key to "on", don't turn to crank position......once again, after 10 minutes the THEFT light should go out.....

Then, turn the key to off, and wait 5 seconds, then turn the key to "on" again and wait 10 minutes.....

When the light goes out a third time, turn key to off, and wait 5 seconds.....

Now, try and start the vehicle......

I have tried everything mentioned above the only thing is that after the car stalls the thief light stops flashing and stays solid. I have left the key in the on position after it stalls for over an hour but the light never turns off.

But have you did the 3 cycles as Tech II suggested?

There is a few reset modes, a simple (the 10 minutes), a more advanced (the 3 cycles) and a complex (require the dealer machine)
