09 2500 4X4 front hubs

Do the front hubs on an 09 2500 4X4 unlock? The front driveshaft always turns when not locked in and it doesn't seem to disconnect anywhere. How does this setup work? Thanks in advance.

Shep, I'm not familiar with a truck as new as yours but the frnt. driveshaft turning is normal. Is your system controlled electronically or the old fashioned way? Nice truck by the way.

The front hubs are a bit different from the older years of chevrolet. Its somewhat hard to explain but here is a video of a guy working on them if that helps at all.

Thanks for the response, I have the manual transfer case lever on the floor. (Had a Chevy years past with electronic switch and it was nothing but problems) Do the hubs disconnect in any way then? When I had it jacked up for an oil change, the front driveshaft wouldn't turn, (I didn't try really hard to turn it). So there is no way to disconnect the drivetrain except at the transfer case when locking it in and out?

I really like the truck and don't want any excessive wear anywhere I don't have to have it, plus I am sure it will help with fuel mileage.
