2005 Cobalt 2.2 Ecotech hesitates when hot

The engine hesitates around 2500 rpm and the engine light flickers but doesn't stay lit or store a code. This doesn't happen during winter driving but does during mild and hot weather. Tried scanning during an event but didn't record a code. The condition corrects itself after a second or two. Kind of hard to diagnose without a code.
