so i'am not getting any power to the fuel pump, checked if getting power to relays=fine, checked relays= fine, dont know what else it could be? ecu?

Unlikely the ecu.

I would first suggest rewiring the fuel pump. Have you checked if there is voltage at the pump? If there is then it could very well be the pump itself. if there is not then the rewiring will solve the problem.

k so i dont think you understand, i do NOT have power at the pump (not getting any volts) as i stated before. i also get continuity from the wires to the pump. so i dont need to rewire the pump.

Pin 74 from the ecu is white with red stripe. It goes to your fuel pump relay. I guess you should test to see if has voltage then.

so i have power to the relays

Well if what you're saying is you have voltage right up to the pump and its not turning on then it must be the pump? But you say you aren't getting power to the pump. Yet you have power at the relay and the wires to the pump have continuity. SO at what point does the power ground out?

i know right, thats what im trying to figure out lol. so it has to be somewhere between the relays and pump guess i will dive into it tomarrow thanxs for your help

FWIW I'm confident that something like this would cure your problem.

I have this exact kit on my car...

yeah think that is a switch if im not mistaken and didnt want to have to flip a switch thats all thanx for the option tho :)

what do you mean switch?

there is def no toggle swtich

what is it ? does it just wire it to a diff relay or somthing?

steviek

yea it comes with its own relay. You wire the power source direct from your battery to your new relay. Then you splice a couple of the existing wires attached to the old relay attach those to the new relay and your done.

I had that same kit on my DSM and it is super easy to install. There's only 4 wires that hook into it. You run a 12v from your battery to one post, a ground to the chassis and to one of the posts, then to the pump itself there's the power wire, you cut that and run one end to one of the posts and the other end to the 4th post. So the power coming to the pump is cut and then it is ran to pass through the relay that uses the 12v power to amplify the power going to the pump. Really easy to do and can be completely accomplished in about an hour or so.

...and there is no toggle switch

You need to check and see if you are getting power to the coil pack and injectors. The ASD relay provides power to the fuel pump, injectors, and coil. If you are getting power to everything but the pump then you have a wiring issue or the pump is bad. If nothing has power (Note that they will only have power when priming on first power up and when cranking) Then the ECU in the car is not turning the relay on… Meaning that you have another issue you need to be looking for. Could be a bad crank position sensor etc.

so would the coil pack get power with the key in the on position or do i have to crank it?

Let me know what you figure out and we can hopefully point you in the right direction.

so im not getting any power to the coil pack.... that would suggest that i would need the main relay wich i think is the asd relay you are talking about. thats so weird cuz when i tested the two realys under the hood in the firewall, fuel pump and (ASD) realys the tested "good"

This does not mean that the relay is bad. The ECU tells that relay when to cut on and off. My guess is that you have a problem somewhere else and the ECU is not letting the car start. I would start with checking power at the sensors (Crank, cam, TPS, MAP etc) Then test each sensor to determine if its good or not. Also make sure the plugs are clean. I had a no start issue once and it was a dirty crank sensor plug.

Okay guys sry its been awhile.... soi will go in to as much detail as possible. i still dont get any voltage to pump, ignition coil. i get voltage to relays i had to jump the 4 pin relay conector where the radio would be to get it to crank. so it cranks but still no power to fuel pump or ignition coil. i also do not have a check engine light when the key is turned to the "on" position or while cranking. is there a way to check if the ecu is operational. p.s. i have applied voltage to pump and pump works just cant get the wires to show voltage.idk thanx for your responses guys

also i have replaced the 2 relays on the drivers side firewall and the 4 pin relay where the radio is( still have to jump the 4 pin for it to crank)

sry also i get .5volts at cam sensor with key on dont know if it is supposed to get 12 or if its only under crank that i would see what voltage is actually supposed to be

so i have forced the asd relay to switch ( grounding out red/white wire) and i get voltage to the black red wire that goes to the ignition
coil. is ther a ground wire in that connector for the coil pack? if so then i have a grounding problem(wich i would think it would have to do with some sort of secutity alarm) lights dont flash tho
