2005 Trailblazer "low collant temp" Light

I have been battling this for some time. The check engine light comes after a period of time from reset. I have changed the thermostate, temp sensor, coolant flush and added per MFG.

I am down to clutch fan. ANY F'n ideas people? The temp guage sits right at 210.

From what I can tell is the check engine light comes on because the engine reaches operating temp to SLOWLY. Im guessing because the clutch fan is spinning to early in the game. Please help.

It is "low collant temp" P0128

Definition

In determining the engine did not reach a "normal" temperature, it takes into account the length of time the vehicle has been running, the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor reading, the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor reading, and the speed of the vehicle.

Usually a t-stat takes care of the P0128. Are you sure you used the correct temp stat when you replaced it? If so, you may have a fan clutch issue, it would be a little unsual though.

I thought there was a considerable history with defective fan clutches that would lock up and not release.

The usual complaint is lots of fan noise.

Hayden--and probably others--make an upgraded fan clutch for this application. The Hayden number is 3201.

Yes, there is a problem with the fan clutches staying engaged,like you said, you would hear it if it was. I was just saying the the fan clutch usually does not cause p0128. If you suspect a fan clutch, by all means replace it.
