what's up fellas, got some q's that I wasn't able to find searching the forums. I got a 97' tahoe 5.7L 4x4 with 230,000 miles on it. I'm doing the infamous intake gasket (guess that's a common problem with these vortecs), and in the process of slapping everything back on. I was cleaning the lower manifold and found some minor pitting near the #8 port. The rest of the manifold is in good condition. My question is how to deal with the pitting. I've heard of filling it with rtv if its minor, I've also heard of filling it with JB weld and smoothing in down and use rtv around the edges. I'm also upgrading the spider injectors to the multiport. Autozone has the unit for $300 from gp sorenson, is the unit a direct bolt-on or is minor modification req? Any tips or advice before I replace the unit? This is my first attempt at doing this kind of repair and I'm still a novice in terms of engine repair so thanks for any help.

Anyone got any Advice??? At least on the pitting on the manifold?? Well maybe someone could help me out with this one, what's the differnce between the fel pro MS98000T and the fel pro MS90131 gasket set. Do I have right one? Which one is better and closer to the new gm gasket? I don't wanna have to do this again some 30,000 miles down the road. When I opened up the box it was the same gasket that the machanic shop put on before? I remember asking the shop if that style of gasket was the redesigned one that was suppose to go on it and I was told it was.
