Hello there,
during the model show in Jabbeke a couple of weeks ago, I suddenly felt the need to build something American with a big V8. So I grabbed the Revell Cobra and set to work, painted the body metallic blue and added classic off-white racing stripes. The rollover bar had to be added, a Cobra just doesn't look complete w/o one.
The car has also been lowered substantially, the Revell sits way too high OOB. To my taste, that is.
The Interior has been painted with ModelMasters Dark Flat Tan, which harmonizes perfectly with the blue, IMO.
I had to order a replacement engine cover from Revell, because the part in my kit was warped badly. On to the pics...

APRIL FOOLS :icon16::iceslolan:cwm27::evillol:
The Cobra is neither from Revell nor have I painted it myself. This is the new 1:24 scale Welly model. Well, modified a little of course. Took me one evening to take it apart, paint the interior to my liking, lower the vehicle and add wheel spacers.
This is what it looked before:

The Welly is a good base, to say the least. Proportions are spot-on. For that little amount of money (EUR 12,99) and time invested I have a very convincing looking model on the shelf, without having to spend a lot more time and money on the Revell plastic kit. I do have 100+ other projects to finish, after all...
Do you still like it now that you know it's a DC? :evillol:
Cheers guys,
Sebastian

thinking those are die cast for 15 euros....they definitely are a great buy!
Die cast market is really impressive today.

I think the Welly is "meh"...crap engine and the car sits way too high, as shown in your pictures. For the money you can't beat one of the Wix Cobras, they're easily available on eBay for ~$40 USD.
