I have a 2001 caravan 3.3L approx 121k miles. When I step on the gas pedal lightly (when just driving away from curb, light or backing up) it stalls on me. Normally it would start right back up. It now is clicking as I turn the key for a few seconds then starts. I Just did a tune up (plugs, wires, fluids) & oil change just over 3 weeks ago. Did not change the fuel filter. Engine light IS on autozone checked it said I had an evap leak but when I took it for emissions test it passed. The garage ran a check and everything came back fine no problems but engine light still on. Brought back to autozone their machine still says it has a leak??

DeChamps80, have you checked for vacuum leaks? At what RPM does your van idle? Do you use fuel system treatment regularly? Have you cleaned the throttle body and all the passages? Sometimes a sensor can be faulty and not show a code. The evap leak could possibly be the gas cap also. Other than the stalling how does it run?

I have used fuel treatment once. I was going on a trip from CT to westmoreland TN. My husband does most of the work to my van when needed I do not believe he has cleaned the throttle etc. When autozone told me that the scan is coming up as an evap leak I bought a new gas cap and nothing changed. When I brought it to the garage for the emissions they did a "scan" as they called it for leaks and they said nothing came up. Said they think the engine light is faulty. As far as the rpm it is at 800.

What was the EVAP code? Start from scratch. Disconnect the negative battery cable. This will reset the computer codes and hopefully your CE light.
Continued stalling starting can drain an already weak battery and may be the cause of your clicking then starting. Have the battery load tested.
Stalling when accelerating can indicate fuel starvation. It can be caused by a weak fuel pump. Have the pressure tested with a fuel pressure gauge. Should be around 55 PSI. Can also be several sensors such as a Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) or Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor (MAP). TPS detects your gas pedal commands and the MAP detects loads on the engine.
Once up to speed does is run ok? Any hesitation going up hills or hard starting?

Yes have your husband check all the sensors such as TPS, Coolant Temp, and Map, he will need a manual and a multimeter if he hasn't got one. The clicking could be caused by a low battery, bad connections etc. Also the fuel pressure should be checked, but make sure there are no vacuum leaks as this would cause the stalling and the CEL. A bad PCM could be a possibility but I would save that for last good luck.

By the way Westmoreland is quite close to where I live, that was a long trip from CT. I use Techron fuel system regularly in mine, It does seem to help.
