Here is my tip for painting lug nuts os such small "round studs"

I use a toothpick cut to get same diameter than target stud or nut.

I dip it into paint to get like a colored toothpick end and I simply apply this colored end on the target to "print" paint on it.
You just have to take care not to get too much paint on the toothpick end, just enough to "print" the stud or nut.

I get good not to say perfect result with this tip and I've forgotten brush since I tried it. ;)

You're doing a good work so far, I like the color combo with rims and body.
I'm just wondering, but it may be the pics, if the rims aren't a bit too glossy, I would better see them mat as it seems to be on the real car, may be better with the white...

Whenever i get depressed about this model I just look at Entaus 599 and Autodecepticons 458 for all the inspiration i need:)

Not that I expected my tip to be used or not but I needed to know if such tip is usefull or not or if some more explanations or eventual pics are needed to be usefull...
(especially that I'm writing in English and it's not my first language, so always have a few doubt on being understand)
When posting to try to help we need to know it it really helps or not.
So a few words in this sense is everything needed.

Drybrushing technique works well on raised surface. Then you can clean the areas you got paint on besides the lug nuts. Toothpicks do the trick too. Looking good.

Looking good so far! What glue did you use to attach the PE? White glue?

RE: the blurry pics with your older camera: make sure you are using macro mode, that will allow a close focus.

I would try to get the body wrapped up now before proceeding to the detail work. Drying time on the various paint and clear layers will leave you high and dry with nothing to do if you finish all the subassemblies first.

Like your Ikea display case: I have two filled with 1:43's and am running out of space again!

rallymaster: Good toothpick tip, I'll be trying that as well!

Ok Ive just done this today so far..Ive been making a lot of mistakes on this build and its taking me an inordinate amount of time to correct them, all of which just gets me frustrated:crying:..But Ill soldier on:smile:...Ill even post a pic of a huge mistake just so you can feel my pain..lol
Back bumper should have four reverse sensors..I just ran a piece of tape and drill out..and put rivet from parts box...OOPPSS tape is not level so had to fill holes...sigh

Cut out seats...not to uber-detail them just to make it easier to paint them!
