I usuly use Testor Clear over my decals, but since I have Duplicolor on my desk, i'm wondering if it will work without problem ?
This is for my Mercedes CLK-GTR Orriginal Taile (rare kit) and don't really want to mess it :D
Decals are drying for 2 days then it will be the clear coat (hope so)

What is the basecoat? I'd go with the same type clearcoat to avoid problems. That kit is very good and I see that you wouldn't want to ruin it.

Duplicolor clear is hot stuff. I would definitely try it out on a scrap decal first. If you don't want to be sorry, I'd probably go with what you know is tried and true like Testors. :)

so duplicolor is "hot stuff" ? i was thinking it was a great clear..
need to try on scrap decals... will be hard to find :(
the base color is tamiya TS-54 if i remeber. It look awersome, but the kit is old and decals show there ages a bit.. here is why i need clear coat over it..

Definately find a decal on the sheet that won't be used, put it on a piece of scrap plastic sprayed with the tamiya paint. Be sure to let the decal dry well, then spray the clear over it and see what happens.

the safest clear coat to use would be tamiya clear in the bottle not the spray can. it wont discolour your decals it wont damage them either
airbrush the first 2 coats lightly and you should be ok

I forgot to update.. I did test it on scrap part with some decal I had over.
Tamiya Paint, Tamiya Decal, 2 day drying result: crap
The clear don't heat the decal or made any reaction, BUT the clear show 2 shade of color and you can really see the clear part of the decal.. so it look total crap...
but Bublicolor over Tamiya Paint work with no problem..
My kit is sitting on my desk to be polished.. will post pics soon
thanks for all the replys
