p1406 code on a 1997 5.7 4x4

I had this code 1406 egr valve,I replaced it with a new delphi egr and i still keep getting 1406 code!!! Any clues???

FIXED!!! Remove EGR valve, start engine to get rid of junk.Install Egr valve..Now it runs smooth
